Malmö brings back the sea in the city

 

The city planning office in the city of Malmö commissioned three teams of architects to look at a coastal protection of the Western, Northern and Middle harbors as well as central Malmö through a protective gate from the Western harbor as well as raising land, dikes, raised quays, filling in harbor basins.
They also had to considerate a future Öresund metro with two station locations in Western harbor and a traffic connection between Middle harbor and Western harbor.
Marine Education Center was invited to team White Architects to look at City of Malmö´s ocean area and how nature-based solutions can increase the city's blue biodiversity and reduce climate impact in the future.
