Young ocean ambassadors are young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who want to get involved for the ocean. Through experiences, conversations and workshops, we explore together ways to spread ocean awareness and be a voice for the ocean.

The UN has designated 2021-2030 as the Ocean Decade for Ocean Science - The Science We Need For The Ocean We Want, where an important part of the initiative is to spread ocean awareness. Marine Knowledge Center's overall goal of spreading ocean awareness is included in all parts of our operations. Our work with young ocean ambassadors is currently taking place within the framework of the project Ocean Awareness Skåne, which is financed by Region Skåne's Environmental Protection Fund.
The aim of the project is to strengthen young people's knowledge, commitment and voice in matters relating to the sea, environment and climate in order to contribute to a more sustainable future for the sea and thus for all of us.
